Pasir Tani Wreck / Vietnamese

Pasir Tani Wreck Vietnamese

One of the few wrecks around these islands and rocks is the Vietnamese wreck, a short boat ride away from PIR. At the southern end of Perhentian Kecil the wreck lies in 15-23m of water, depending on tidal height and is subject to currents both on the surface and below. It rests through a thermocline at 18m, and thus the visibility can be much reduced in the colder water

Coral dive

Tokong Laut

tokong

Arguably one of the best dive sites in the Perhentians. A series of underwater boulders and pinnacles plays home to all manner of marine life. Pufferfish and boxfish are common here along side several species of anemonefish living amonst the vivid corals. Bigger pelagics are also often spotted including barracuda and tuna with large schools of snappers and fusiliers sweeping in and out of the formations. If you're lucky and the season is right you may glimpse a whale shark here however numbers have dwindled recently. Bamboo and Nurse sharks have also known to make there homes in the rocky hideaways at Tokong Laut.

Shark Point/ Light House

Vast extension of hard coral, and the usual reef life. Easy to spot black tip sharks (when visibility is good) and home of turtles, needle fish, puffers, some barracuda, etc. In 2010 one diving school sunk an old piano there. It's locations shouldn't be difficult: In the Flora Bay side of this site there's 3 to 4 buoys attached to the ground, check in one of the middle ones, and you'll find it at the sandy bottom, at aprox.12m deep. It's also an excellent site for snorkellers.

Seahorse Drift

Seahorse drift is the best place in the perhentian for muck diving. Really close to the small island, but only accesible by boat. Is in the chanell between the two islands, so the current is always strong, therefore is perfect for drift diving.

Terumbu Tiga / Three Rocks (T3)

Terumbu Tiga lies to the east of the bigger of the two Perhentian Islands (Besar) and is accessed by boat. Its a collection of rocks, which provide a great habitat for critters, with very clear water and fun swim-throughs. This formation of large boulders is potentially the most picturesque site in the Perhentians. Soft corals including beautiful, whip and fan corals are plentiful while daisy coral, anemones, nudibranch and many other colourful critters have made these rocks their home. The collection of rocks also offers many exciting swim-throughs and canyons.

Batu Nisan

A gentler and shallower dive here where there is an abundance of giant clams, anemones and christmas tree worms. There maybe stingrays resting on the sandy bottom here. A good spot for a night dive as crabs, shrips and feather stars are in abundance as are parrotfish which will be asleep and encased by nightfall.
